Questions answered about Medicare programs

Palestine, Texas - August 25, 2009.
Representing the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas, Dovie Lawrence addressed over 80 people who attended the monthly Senior Friends meeting held at Palestine Regional Medical Center.

The Area Agency on Aging of East Texas is designated by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services to coordinate services for persons in East Texas who are 60 years of age or older.

Ms. Lawrence is a Benefits Counselor with the agency.  She offered valuable information on Medicare Part D, as well as explanations regarding the Extra Help/Low Income Subsidy Program.  "I have a very special job," she stated.  "It's my privilege to be able to tour East Texas and speak to seniors confused about their medical coverage."
